There had to be at a least 20 people in that mob! Spock and I managed to momentarily duck into the Playhouse. The very Playhouse where this Madness began.

“My problem is not directly with you sir, but more so with the Captain” I said to Spock. “Less so the fact that you don’t speak up for me!”
He seemed to be ignoring me, but given the complaints I hear come from his girlfriend, I was not surprised.
Finally he responds…

“I fail to understand why at this time you choose to discuss bridge operations while we are hotly pursued by an angry mob on an alien planet Mr. Sulu”

“The why Mr. Spock is that you asked me, why I was so angry and ready to fight!”

“Am I to conclude, Hikaru, that you feel your rank and abilities are being overlooked?”

“That’s right Spock! Mr. Scott is an engineer, and while he may out rank me, I am bridge officer! Assigned to the Bridge! He is not!”

It was right then that I heard a woman’s voice say…”They ran into the theater where Kodos had been hiding under our noses!”

To me, that just means that the lot of them are stupid!
Anton Karidian had been performing here for two weeks! Two weeks, and it was not until we arrived that his true identity began to come to light!

“Well Mr. Sulu” said Spock… “by the pounding sound at the door, the chance to vent yourself and test your fighting skills are upon us!”

“Really Spock? I thought you said we can not and should not hurt civilians?”

The door burst open and in pieces. Mostly men but some women all of them carrying poles, sticks torches, the complete lynch mob kit!

“Mr. Sulu, I said we should not hurt them, I said nothing was wrong with slapping them around a bit.”

They say that Mr. Spock doesn’t have a sense of humor, but it’s a fact that the 10th wise crack I heard from him.
We were already on the stage, by the time the mob got to us I took advantage of the higher ground. I did my trade mark front flip over their heads. While in mid air I grabbed what was similar to a base ball bat from one of the attackers. Needless to say as I landed I kicked one of them unconscious. When I landed low and used the “bat” to take out the knees of two of the mob members. Of course by this time, Spock had taken out about four of them (man is this guy tough) and we are quickly back to back. (What I would give to see a photo of that!)

The crowd if now freighted, back peddling and re grouping.

Spock in an elevated voice says… “I am the second in command of the USS Enterprise. We wish not to harm you but we will defend ourselves!

I Intercede… “Listen to the commander. We can circumstantially prove that Karidian is Kodos. But not definitely! “

Now that they are afraid of us, they were more apt to listen.
Just Then… an incoming call of the communicator…

“Ensign Chekov to away team, Mr. Spock do you read? - Over.”

Spock grabs his communicator…

“Yes ensign, why have communications in-operative?”

“Sabotage Sir, Karidian has the Captain and Lt. Uhura cornered in one of the cargo bays. Ships security is on the way to cut the door open. We do not know their status sir.”

“Beam us aboard now ensign”

Although Spock said that as cool as a cucumber, I could still see the look on his face. He would rip Kodos in half if he harmed Nyota….
